The Anti-Carceral Co+Laboratory

The ACC is a regional hub in Greater Boston that centers the expertise of women, girls, and trans and non-binary people impacted by incarceration and criminalization.

Located at Wellesley College, supported by the Mellon Foundation, and grounded in abolition feminist commitments, the ACC facilitates sustained, accountable co-learning between scholars and community leaders to reimagine communities beyond policing, prisons, and carceral violence.

WHO WE ARE

The ACC is a collective of educators, students, and community partners dedicated to building a different kind of liberal arts education through community-rooted organizing, pedagogy, and research.

OUR WORK

The ACC creates spaces for scholar-activists, students, and organizers to build community and reimagine freedom, justice, and healing beyond the carceral state.

For us, that means building sustained and accountable relationships with community members and organizations who have long led these efforts, and finding ways to amplify the work they are already doing.

It also means creating structures within and beyond higher education to seed and sustain collaborations with community partners.
