Jennifer Musto is Associate Professor of Women’s and Gender Studies at Wellesley College where she also directs the  Knapp Social Science Center and co-directs the ACC. Her research examines the sociolegal, technology, and intersectional effects of carceral violence in the United States. Her current work explores the impact of carceral policies and anti-violence strategies billed as therapeutic, trauma-informed alternatives to punishment. The thread that links her research, teaching, and engaged leadership is a commitment to centering the expertise and visionary organizing work of impacted communities advancing efforts to reimagine justice, safety, care, and healing.
